Laurel & Dustin didn’t want to celebrate their wedding in the traditional way. They went to the courthouse back at home in the USA to make their marriage official back in March, then spent the rest of the day working on their new house. But one thing they knew they did want was some pictures to celebrate, and they decided that Lake Braies was the perfect spot.

Laurel & Dustin had planned a trip to Europe to celebrate their wedding, and decided that this would be the perfect opportunity for them to take their wedding pictures. They loved the idea of visiting the Alps, and as we started looking at different options around the Austrian and Italian Alps, one particular place caught their eye. They fell in love with the raw beauty of the Dolomites region in the Italian Alps and booked a few nights at the Hotel Lago di Braies right on the shores of Lake Braies.

With the unusual amounts of snow still covering many of the mountains in the Italian Alps, we decided to spend the whole day at Lake Braies. We hiked around the full lake circuit, an easy but stunning hike, and enjoyed incredible views of the lake, the mountains and also the beautiful forests that surround it.

Laurel knew that she didn’t want to wear a white wedding dress. At first she had her mind set to wearing red, but when she saw an online advertisement for a stunning golden evening gown, she knew it was exactly what she wanted. Her stunning gold wedding gown added a real touch of glamour to the raw beauty of Lake Braies, whilst still fitting perfectly with the earthy tones of the forests around the lake.
