During the summer I learned about a beautiful, easy hike beneath in Hintertux in the Zillertal valley of Austria’s Tirol, and I immediately knew I wanted to take a couple there. When Sarah and Kai expressed an interest in doing an adventure session together, I knew this spot would be perfect for their pre-wedding adventure session. We originally planned to get together at the start of July and go exploring but unfortunately the weather had other ideas. And while I am usually happy to shoot in any weather conditions, we all agreed that heading out in to the mountains when there were forecasts of heavy thunderstorms was too risky. So we got our diaries out and re-scheduled.

A Pre-Wedding Adventure Session In Hintertux – Sarah & Kai

When the evening for Sarah & Kai’s adventure session came around, it couldn’t have been more perfect. Not only was the sun shining with a golden evening glow, but the trees had started to display their wonderful autumnal colours. We hiked up past waterfalls and through the forest until we reached a clearing with views over to the middle station of the Hintertux ski area gondola. But as the sun started to set behind the mountains, we knew we had to return back to the valley before the light faded, even though we all longed to stay up on the mountain and enjoy the incredible views.

It was great to get to know Sarah and Kai and explore some of this beautiful area at the end of the Zillertal valley and I can’t wait to capture their wedding next year in Mayrhofen.

I definitely recommend considering an adventure session before your wedding day if you are nervous about being photographed. It’s such a great way for us to get to know each other a bit better and for you to get a feel of what it feels like to work with a photographer. It’s also a lot of fun!
