Great love stories cross international borders, just like Hilary & Spencer’s. The pasts might have started on different sides of the Atlantic Ocean, but their different journeys eventually brought them together, and led them to create a life together in Dubai. Earlier this spring they tied the knot in Dubai, but since some family members were unable to attend, they thought it would be lovely to celebrate their wedding for a second time during a family reunion in Austria this summer.
An After Wedding Shoot In The Lech Valley
Their families from the UK and Canada, as well as some old family friends in Germany all met for a long weekend of catching up, hiking and exploring the beautiful surroundings of Holzgau in the Lech Valley of Vorarlberg in the Austrian Alps.
Hilary & Spencer decided to bring their wedding clothes with them on their trip. Since they did not have a lot of time on their real wedding day for a lot of portraits, they thought it would be wonderful to capture their post-wedding adventure by dressing back up in their wedding outfits and taking some pictures in the beautiful Austria Alps.
For their shoot, we drove to the legendary ski town of Lech, famous for being the preferred ski destination of the British Royal Family. We took the Rüfikopfbahn cable car up from the village, and the views from the top were absolutely breathtaking. The surrounding mountains were so rocky and rugged, which provided the most dramatic backdrop for Hilary & Spencer, who got many cheers of congratulations from all the hikers who passed them by on the mountain.
Having an after-wedding shoot, whether the day after your wedding, on your honeymoon, or even a few months down the line, gives you the excuse to wear your wedding clothes again and have some fun creating some beautiful images together without the time constraints or the stress of a wedding day.
