There’s nothing worse than being stuck at home and indoors when there are so many amazing things to do outside. But sometimes we simply can’t just drop everything and go on an adventure. When you’re stuck at home right and can’t get outside, don’t worry, there are plenty of ways to focus on a healthy relationship! I’ve found some amazing ways to bring the adventure to you. So you and your partner can have an adventure-filled date night from the comfort of your own home.
And I’m challenging you – how can you find the best way to bring adventure into your everyday life at this time? Share your own adventures with me on Instagram. Make sure to tag @wildconnectionsphoto and use the hashtag #FindTheAdventureEveryDay
At-Home Date Night Ideas For Adventurers
Explore Iconic Landscapes With Google Maps Treks
Have you ever dreamed of climbing El Cap in Yosemite with Alex Honnold and Tommy Caldwell? Or visiting Everest Base Camp? I’m sure it’s not just me! I recently discovered Google Maps Treks which let you explore some of the most exciting adventure destinations across the world right from your couch.
Have An Adventure Movie Night
There are a number of awesome movies out there that you can stream right now, and many for free. Here are some of my top pics:
Winter Wildlands Alliance Backcountry Film Festival
You can now watch the whole lineup from the Winter Wildlands Alliance Backcountry Film Festival for free online. However, since they are a non-profit, if you enjoy what you’ve seen, do consider supporting them by donating or becoming a member.
Slipstream – The Netflix of Adventure Movies
Slipstream is a subscription-based streaming service hosting exclusively adventure movies! And even if you can’t stretch to a monthly subscription right now, you could sign up to a free 30-day trial. That should be enough for at least a few date dates!
Reel Rock
Last weekend for my birthday I bought the latest instalment, Reel Rock 14. As someone who has fallen in love with climbing over the last year, these movies showcase some of the best climbers in the world undertaking some of the sickest projects.
DC Environmental Film Festival
Another film festival that has been cancelled for 2020 due to the Covid-19 outbreak is now offering the majority of the films (70+ options) to viewers to stream online, and many of them for free.
Do A Couples Workout
It takes a certain type of couple to see that is a date night activity, but nevertheless, I’m including it in this list. At the moment Menno and I are really enjoying doing a couples training session in the evenings as an alternative while our climbing gym is closed. We’ve been working through these ones from Lattice.
Plan Your Dream Trip (or Maybe Your Elopement!)
Even if you can’t travel right now, it doesn’t mean you can’t plan an amazing adventure for the future. That could be an epic adventure holiday or maybe even an adventure elopement! So why not have a trip planning date night. You could either plan a dream trip together or plan two different adventures separately and then pitch your idea to your partner Shark Tank-style.

Go Camping
You don’t need to travel anywhere to re-create the adventure of going camping. Why not set up a tent in your back garden, on your balcony or in your front room, and have a camping date. Your neighbours may think you’ve lost your shit, but to be honest, they probably aren’t far behind you!
Pretend You’re On An Epic Adventure
Missing your favourite places. Why not recreate an adventure at home?
