How do two people who met on the other side of the world end up having a mountain wedding in Innsbruck?

They met whilst both working overseas in China. Before the wedding, Kelly and Arik had been living and working in Shanghai. But they wanted to start their new life as a married couple in a new place. A place where their quality of life was as important as a career. So they decided to start their new life together in Zurich, Switzerland. Whilst Kelly was getting the final details in order in Innsbruck in the few days before their wedding, Arik was back in Zurich moving their belongings over to their new apartment.

An Innsbruck Wedding

Kelly and Arik chose Innsbruck not only for its stunning mountain scenery but also because it was where Arik was born.

Their civil ceremony was held at one of Innsbruck’s most famous monuments, the Golden Roof. The historic building provided the perfect setting for their elegant wedding style.

As Kelly and Arik left their ceremony as husband and wife, their friends and family who had flown from all over the world to celebrate with them, showered them in rice. Which both Kelly and Arik were picking out from their hair for a good few hours afterwards.

At the historic Ottoburg in the Altstadt of Innsbruck, they raised a glass with traditional Malaysian toasts to their marriage and a wonderfully heartfelt speech from Arik before a traditional Austrian lunch.

After lunch, everyone headed up to the Seegrube on the Nordkette in Innsbruck. Kelly, Arik and their guests were able to enjoy some of the best views of the city whilst enjoying some cake and the warm summer sun.
