Have you ever been somewhere that took your breath away. Somewhere you always vowed you’d return to? When Y & J first traveled to the Dolomites for a climbing trip a couple of years ago, they fell in love with the dramatic scenery of the Italian Alps. So when they got engaged, they wanted to return to the place where they’d had one of their most incredible adventures for their intimate wedding in the Dolomites.
An Intimate Wedding In The Dolomites
These two climbers wanted to bring their immediate family together from all over the world to witness their wedding vows in the Dolomites. They found the gorgeous San Lorenzo White Deer Mountain Lodge in Forbes Magazine which they knew would be a perfect mountain retreat for them for their intimate wedding celebration with their families. This exclusive mountain hideaway was the most stunning location for their pre-wedding preparations and their evening al-fresco dinner out on the terrace overlooking the mountains.
Their incredible ceremony location was found by their wonderful wedding planner Jlenia, a local Dolomites Wedding Planner, an old church ruin overlooking rolling meadows and the mountains of the magnificent Fannes-Sennes-Braies National Park in the distance.
Amongst the ruins of the old church, the couple made their promises to one another. With their family coming from across the world to join them, they wanted to include them in their ceremony, asking each of their family members to chose something to read. Just as the couple got ready to exchange their vows, a huge thunderstorm broke, and everyone ran for the shelter of the small chapel. They continued their vows inside the chapel, but as the rain started to ease, and the sun started to come back out, they headed back outside to exchange their rings with the incredible Dolomites behind them.
After the ceremony, the group was treated to the most exquisite picnic of local delicacies prepared from them by a local hotel, the Kolfuschgerhof, and I escaped with the bride and groom for a little adventure with the exploring the local surroundings, to capture them in their favourite place, the Dolomites.
In the evening we returned back to the lodge where the most amazing al-fresco dinner had been prepared for them by a private chef on the terrace. To celebrate her heritage, the bride changed in to her mother’s traditional Korean wedding dress for the rest of the evening.
