Tre Cime Elopement In The Dolomites

As we drove up the mountain pass to where Tihomir & Petya had planned to have their elopement ceremony, they told me how they hadn’t always been “mountain people”. They used to love beach holidays until one year a trip to the mountains changed everything. Suddenly they both found themselves feeling drawn away from the ocean and towards the mountains. So after deciding that they wanted their wedding day to be something unique, they chose Lago di Braies and the Tre Cime in the Dolomites as the perfect backdrop for their elopement.

Tre Cime Elopement In The Dolomites

Petya & Tihomir’s elopement day started with a private first look on the jetty of the famous boathouse at Lago di Braies. With nobody else around, they enjoyed the peace and quiet, taking in the first moments of seeing each other on their wedding day, before jumping in one of the rowing boats and taking it out on the lake.

After a couple of hours at Lago di Braies, we jumped in the car to drive up to their ceremony location. Petya & Tihomir wanted to have their elopement ceremony up at a location with stunning mountain views. Some friends from back at home in Bulgaria had made them a beautiful wooden ceremony arch, however the arch was heavy and couldn’t be carried too far, so it was my job to find a location for the ceremony that offered amazing views but that was easily accessible. Petya & Tihomir loved the location I suggested to them, and after calling ahead to ask permission to hold their ceremony there, they got the green light. So we drove up the winding road to Rifugio Auronzo and set the arch up for their Tre Cime elopement ceremony.

The ceremony was led by one fo Petya’s best friends, who recounted the story of the couple that had brought them to this moment. As they exchanged wedding vows with one another, they took in the magnificent scenery around them, knowing that their choice to elope to the Dolomites was 100% the right decision for them.
